triangle motifs dress
Exquisite crochet summer dress in triangle motifs patchwork assembly pattern for a sophisticated look
This unique crochet summer dress, made from triangle motifs, softly wraps around your body, accentuates your curves and highlights your beautiful figure.
A Work of Art Easy to Make
The assembly of motifs in this garment enables you to shape the shoulders, sleeves, and the “V” cleavage at the front and back. Additionally, the specific organisation of motifs widens the piece in the hip area so as to create a nice diagonal flow of the lower part of the dress.
Although at first sight this pattern seems complex, triangular motifs are very simple. You will complete each of them really quickly, in 5 or 6 rounds, depending on the size. My 2 supporting video tutorials, show you the join of the motifs in the last round. Apart from that, the videos make the process of crocheting this dress easier, and you will also be able to learn something new. So, if you like challenges, this project is perfect for you!

general Information about the pattern
Dress Design
This summer dress is made up from triangular motifs, joined together in a modern, vibrant fashion. The way of assembling the triangular pieces, shown in the drawing below, shapes the neckline and shoulders, widens the hip area, and forms a slightly curved hem.
The dress consists of 44 triangular motifs, crocheted in 5 or 6 rounds, depending on the size, whose one side is 19 – 21 – 23 – 24 – 25 cm long (7.4 – 8.2 – 9 – 9.4 – 9.8 in). You will need 20 triangles for the front piece, 20 for the back, and 4 side motifs in the area from your armpit to the waist, which belong both to the front and the back of the dress. The front and back pieces are identical. The length from shoulder to hem is about 85 – 90 – 100 – 110 – 115 cm (33 – 35 – 39 – 43 – 45 in). My size, shown in the pictures, is S.
Sizes
The sizes in the text are given in this format: S – M – L – XL – XXL. The pattern is written in US terminology. However, the measurements are given in both cm and inches, while hook sizes are given in millimeters.
As you will see in the drawing, finished bust is several cm (an inch or two) smaller than the standardized bust sizes. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, crochet cotton garments tend to stretch quite a bit when worn, so once you put on the dress it will be wider around your body. Secondly, this model is intended to stretch in the bust area, while it is meant to stay unstretched around the waistline so as to point out your curves. Therefore, choose the pattern size according to your bust size (or according to your widest area – waist, for example, if your figure is different).
